Fabulous miniature enameled pendant in the manner of Erte.
This Art Deco image was created in the atelier of a Russian miniaturist using the same techniques as are used in the well-known hand-painted miniature boxes and babushkas. The pendant mounted on Sterling Silver is suspended from a strand of natural green Moonstone separated by Jet rondels. The finishing touch is a black druzy clasp that matches Madamoiselle’s dress.Erté (Romain de Tirtoff)
Romain de Tirtoff was a Russian-born French painter and designer known by the pseudonym Erté, a French pronunciation of initials R.T. Tirtoff was born as Roman Petrov de Tyrtov [Роман Петрович Тыртов] in St. Petersburg, Russian Empire in a very distinguished family with roots traced back to 1548.
